This is perhaps the most celebrated work by one of the main pioneering masters of industrial design in Spain. This lamp was part of the first collection of TRAMO (Trabajos Molestos), the company founded by Miguel Milá to self-produce his work in post-war times in Spain, when he began rudimentarily with a profession that he would later develop with mastery, that of pre-war designer. -Industrial, looking for suitable solutions with the available technology. Annoying jobs, Milá's names are like his objects: their depth lies in their simplicity. And this representative of the TM family, Tra-mo Móvil, this time in Madera, is presented as its informal alternative, or blue jeans.
In an exquisite demonstration of formal serenity and functional efficiency, Miguel Milá managed to brilliantly separate the three essential elements of any lamp: its structure, its electrical components and its shade, in such a way that the user assembles them with extreme ease and allows for better maintenance during its very long useful life. And time beautifies it.
A cross-shaped base supports the first section of the shaft, square in section, which changes into a circular shape when it reaches its midpoint. The screen moves up and down through it, held at the desired height by the resistance of a simple O-ring. A true lesson in intelligence and good taste with the minimum use of components. This was the first Miguel Milá product to be reissued by Santa & Cole, in 1986, when it was already twenty-five years old, and today it presents a range of five different woods for its structure, and two shade colors, white or beige.
